Dr Louise Birkett-Swan
Dr Louise Birkett-Swan is a Clinical Psychologist with over ten years of experience of working with individuals who present with overt challenging behaviour. Throughout this time Louise has worked primarily with individuals with an acquired brain injury, experiencing cognitive, behavioural and social challenges. Louise currently works within an inpatient rehabilitation service, working both individually using behavioural, cognitive behavioural and metacognitive approaches. In addition, Louise has considerable experience working with staff teams and providing training to staff working with challenging behaviour.
Dr Colin Hicks
Dr Colin Hicks is a Counselling Psychologist and BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist experienced in working with both adults and adolescents. He has worked in university counselling services, a specialist NHS student mental health service and currently works in the IAPT psychological therapies service in Southampton.
Jo Hiscox
Jo Hiscox has 20 years experience as FE lecturer and manager. She has taught A levels, GCSE and BTEC, and is senior examiner at AQA She headed a teacher training department for over 10 years delivering PGCE/Cert Ed, DTLLS, CTLLS, PTLLS, CPD and professional training. She was visiting lecturer at Nottingham University.
Dr Fiona Kennedy
Dr Fiona Kennedy has worked as a clinical psychologist for nearly thirty years. She has extensive experience working with people with mental health problems and people with learning disabilities. Fiona is trained in CBT, DBT and CAT (cognitive analytic therapy) and has researched, published and taught on trauma, dissociation, personality disorders, case conceptualization and DBT. She has supervised on the doctoral programmes at Exeter and Southampton Universities. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and BABCP Accredited therapist, supervisor and trainer. Since retiring from being Head of the Clinical Psychology Service for Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Trust, Fiona is Director for E-Mail Therapy and Greenwood Mentors Ltd and is Volunteer Consultant & Lifetime Fellow of Dream a Dream NGO, India.
Dr Sara Melly
Dr Sara Melly is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years experience working in Adult Mental Health Services and Forensic Mental Health. She is a BABCP Accredited therapist trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She has supervised on the Southampton University Cognitive Therapy Diploma and is currently the lead for the Secondary Care Psychological Services for Portsmouth City Teaching PCT.
Dr Nunzio Mosca
Dr Nunzio Mosca is a Clinical Psychologist with six years experience in Adult and Forensic Mental Health settings. Working initially within a nursing team and more recently as a Clinical Psychologist, Nunzio has worked in both inpatient and community settings. He currently works in Portsmouth Adult Mental Health Secondary Care Psychological Services. He works mostly within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy model informed also by Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
Dr Helen O'Connor
Dr Helen O'Connor is is currently Lead Consultant Psychologist for a Psychological Therapies team within the NHS, managing other workers as well as seeing clients herself. As part of the Senior Management Team she is influential in decision making and has direct experience of the management issues within a large organisation.
Dr Olivia Thrift
Dr Olivia Thrift is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with eight years experience in Adult and Forensic Mental Health Settings. Her training was integrative, giving her a theoretical and applied understanding of humanistic, psychodynamic and CBT approaches. She currently works in the Secondary Care Psychological Services team in Portsmouth and works from a CBT and CAT perspective as well as being part of the Portsmouth DBT team. Furthermore, she provides psychological consultation to Portsmouth's acute inpatient ward and CRHT team.
