Education — Supporting Young People with Mental Health Issues: Recognition, Initial Reactions & Signposting
Rates of mental health problems among young people increase as they reach adolescence and rise still further between the ages of 15 to 18. This one-day workshop is designed to help professionals working with young people recognise the signs of mental illness in order to offer appropriate support.
The workshop adopts a holistic approach and is based on current psychological models of mental health. It will cover what to look out for; the importance of initial reactions; and how and when to signpost to other services.
This workshop will be delivered by Dr Sara Melly and Dr Colin Hicks.
